Coulomb energy differences between isobaric analogue states in 70Br and 70Se

Gamma ray transitions de-exciting states in the N = Z nucleus ⁷⁰Br have been identified for the first time using the GASP and EUROBALL arrays coupled with ancillary detectors. The level scheme of ⁷⁰Br has been established by means of particle-gated γ-γ and γ-γ-γ coincidences. The Coulomb energy differences between isobaric analogue states in ⁷⁰Br and ⁷⁰Se show a deviation from the expected behaviour which could be related to dripline effects. Depopulation of the Jπ = 9- isomer in 180Ta to the Jπ = 1+ ground state by Coulomb excitation

In-beam Coulomb excitation of the exotic odd-odd nucleus ¹⁸⁰Ta has been studied by using a ¹³⁶Xe beam and a setup consisting of five EUROBALL CLUSTER detectors and the Darmstadt-Heidelberg Crystal Ball array. Spectroscopic information on the extremely rare ¹⁸⁰Ta is obtained from the comparison between an enriched (3.6±0.3% ¹⁸⁰Ta) and a natural tantalum target. Possible evidence for a depopulation from the long-lived high-spin J ^π = 9^- isomer to the short-lived J ^π = 1⁺ ground state is searched for by different methods. The decay of low-K bandheads, which are nanosecond isomers, towards the ground-state band can be demonstrated in delayed spectroscopy. A γγ coincidence analysis provides indications of K = 5 in-band transitions. Finally, when the Crystal Ball is used as an energy and γ multiplicity filter, signals of decay into the K = 0 band are observed. Received: 23 January 2001 / Accepted: 8 February 2001

The title compound was prepared by the solid state reaction of stoichiometric amounts of CdCl₂·H₂O and 4-nitroaniline . The crystal used for X-ray analysis was obtained by slow evaporation of an ethanol-aqueous solution of the solid state reaction at room temperature. The structure of compound was characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. The crystal belongs to orthorhombic, space group Pbca, a=0.77864(7)nm,b=0.72547(6)nm,c=3.3126(2)nm,Z=4,V=1.8712(3)nm³,D_c=1.890g·cm^-3,μ=1.763mm^-1, F(000)=1048,R=0.0300,wR=0.0697. The title compound is a typical two-dimensional organic intercalated compound. The inorganic layers of the compound are formed by CdCl₆ octahedra sharing corner Cl atoms (i.e. catena-poly[dihlorocadmium-di-μ-chloro]). The organic ammonium cations are intercalated between every two metal-halogen layers and formed the organic layers of the compound through hydrogen bonding.     

On a conjecture of the Randić index and the minimum degree of graphs

The Randi? index $R\left(G\right)$ of a graph $G$ is defined by $R\left(G\right)={\sum }_{uv}\frac{1}{\sqrt{d\left(u\right)d\left(v\right)}}$, where $d\left(u\right)$ is the degree of a vertex $u$ and the summation extends over all edges $uv$ of $G$. Delorme et al. (2002)  [6] put forward a conjecture concerning the minimum Randi? index among all$n$-vertex connected graphs with the minimum degree at least $k$. In this work, we show that the conjecture is true given the graph contains $k$ vertices of degree $n?1$. Further, it is true among $k$-trees.     

Spaces of Ideal Convergent Sequences of Bounded Linear Operators

Abstract

The notation of I–convergence was introduced and studied by Kostyrko, Macaj, Salat, and Wilczynski. Recently, the concept of I–convergent for a sequence of bounded linear operators has been studied by Khan and Shafiq. This has motivated us to introduce and study some new spaces of double sequences of bounded linear operators and their basic topological and algebraic properties of these spaces. And we study some of their basic topological and algebraic properties of these spaces. We prove some inclusion relations on these spaces.     

Local Structural Properties and Attribute Characteristics in 2-mode Networks: p∗ Models to Map Choices of Theater Events 1

Choices of plays made by theatergoers can be considered as a 2-mode or affiliation network. In this article we illustrate how p? models (an exponential family of distributions for random graphs) can be used to uncover patterns of choices. Based on audience research in three theater institutions in Ghent (Belgium), we analyze the loyalty for an institution, the diversity in audience composition as well as more complex local structural patterns. The results seem to indicate that theater audiences are generally loyal to an institution. However, when controlling for more complex structural patterns, such as the co-attendance of identical plays, the tendency toward mobility across institutions becomes more pronounced. By integrating both attribute-specific patterns and more complex structural patterns in the same model social network analysis offers the possibility to investigate differences in co-attendance, loyalty and audience diversity.     

Multiparameter ratio ergodic theorems for semigroups

After one-parameter treatment of ratio ergodic theorems for semigroups, we formulate the Sucheston a.e. convergence principle of continuous parameter type. This principle plays an effective role in proving some multiparameter generalizations of Chacon?s type continuous ratio ergodic theorems for semigroups and of Jacobs? type continuous random ratio ergodic theorems for quasi-semigroups. In addition, a continuous analogue of the Brunel–Dunford–Schwartz ergodic theorem is given of sectorially restricted averages for a commutative family of semigroups. We also formulate a local a.e. convergence principle of Sucheston?s type. The local convergence principle is effective in proving multiparameter local ergodic theorems. In fact, a multiparameter generalization of Akcoglu–Chacon?s local ratio ergodic theorem for semigroups of positive linear contractions on _L1$L_1$ is proved. Moreover, some multiparameter martingale theorems are obtained as applications of convergence principles.
